Hello, hello! Well, spring and summer are over. We are already into autumn. It was nice while it lasted. Next week: winter. REVAB is this Sunday, April 11, 9:00 am. Invites went out in the mail ... I need to hear from you! Please come to this festive and relaxed event. The food is absolutely delicious, and the coffee will flow plentifully (if we don't blow a fuse again). There will be plenty of conversation and free childcare for your children (up to 8 years old). Many thanks to the members of the Religious Education Committee for presenting this breakfast and thanks also to members of the Caring Ministry Committee for providing childcare. I look forward to seeing all of our RE Volunteers this Sunday. Last Sunday, Easter, April 4, was a really fun RE day. Classes were in session for the 2-6 year-olds, and the nursery was open for babies age 0-1 year. There were 29 children in attendance, and there were 7 adults working in support of these children in one capacity or another. |

Hello Everybody, It is such a lovely evening. I hope you are all sitting on your front porches, sipping mint juleps, and watching the neighborhood hide-and-seek games. It sounds like Texas to me, and it feels like it, too. And that is just plain goodness. Last Sunday, March 28, there were 31 babies, children, and youth in our various Religious Education classes. There were 12 adults working in support of these children. |

Hello Y'all, Important news! The high school class for this Sunday, March 28, has been CANCELLED. The high school class will resume meeting on April 11 (April 4 will be an intergenerational service). On April 11, the high school class will meet in their downstairs classroom at 10:30 AM and watch and discuss the Frontline documentary, "Merchants of Cool." Since this documentary is a bit longer than others, the class will run until noon. I will bring the high schoolers a delicious snack on that day so they do not lament the loss of Glorified Coffee Hour in their lives. Many thanks to Shannon Thomas-Duvall and Bill Forbes for stepping up to fill two of our three volunteer positions available for THIS SUNDAY! I still need a volunteer in the 4th-6th grade class assisting Vusa Bentley. This is a no-prep position! You can start out in the sanctuary at 10:30, sing the opening hymn, hear some opening words, and enjoy the Children's Focus. You can then walk with the children to their classroom and learn with them as they study Islam. This is a very easy job, and it also earns you an invitation to REVAB! (Keep reading to find out more!) Please let me know of your willingness to help. I can be found at

Hello Almost-Spring Peeps! What an amazing few days we have experienced, weather-wise. With the snow all but gone and the sun bright in the sky, it is hard to believe that it is March. However, I understand that it is all going to go bad for the weekend. Oh, well. We've been lucky so far ... I knew that it would not last. Last Sunday, there were 42 babies, children, and youth in our various classrooms. There were 17 adults working in support of these children in one capacity or another. That means that there were 59 people involved in the RE program last Sunday, March 14. There were four babies in the nursery with care providers Anji Spialek and Julie Burns. |

Hay-lo Everbuddy! I'm enjoying the melt. Aren't you? It is such a relief just to have something different happening outside. Speaking of different, the time change is coming up this weekend. Before you go to bed, set your clocks forward one hour. (Fall back. Spring forward.) This is also a good time to check the batteries in your smoke alarms. So, take that as a strong hint and get to it. :-) Last Sunday, there were 47 babies, children, and youth in our various classrooms. There were 17 adults working in support of these children in one capacity or another. That's a total of 64 people involved in our Religious Education program last Sunday. Thank you for being here! There was one baby in the nursery with Julie Burns and Anji Spialek. |
